Telangana: Farmers told to use less water

Agriculture officers are creating awareness among the farmers about the benefits of cultivating pulses.

Warangal: Jayashankar Bhupalpalli district agriculture officer Anuradha is asking farmers to opt for crops that consume less water and electricity. like grains and pulses. 

The department will provide 3,100 quintal seeds at 50 per cent subsidy, she said. Agriculture officers are creating awareness among the farmers about the benefits of cultivating pulses.

The district officials expect the extent of cultivated land to increase this year, saying that 3,94,836 acres of land could be cultivated this year for which 9,285 quintal seeds and 85,733 metric tonnes urea have been kept ready.
