Telangana: Woman gives birth on Krishna Express
Sources said the woman named Rijwana boarded the train at Akkannapet railway station on Saturday night for Nizamabad.
Nizamabad: A woman gave birth to a boy on a running train between Akkannapet and Kamareddy railway stations on Saturday night.
The incident occurred in the Adilabad-bound Krishna Express that started from Tirupati.
Sources said the woman named Rijwana boarded the train at Akkannapet railway station on Saturday night for Nizamabad.
She developed labour pains during the journey and gave birth to a boy before the train reached Kamareddy railway station.
The passengers in the train immediately informed railway police about the incident. No family member had accompanied the pregnant woman.
The railway police and the local police shifted the woman and her baby to the government area hospital in Kamareddy. The condition of the mother and baby is stable. Police said that Rijwana was a beggar and was going to Nandipet in Nizamabad district.
