TSPSC interview on hold for 2 years
Some 48 lakh candidates have applied for various posts.
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has released around 101 notifications starting from 2015 for around 36,000 posts.
Some 48 lakh candidates have applied for various posts. The available jobs are equivalent to 0.75 per cent of the applicants. In the process of one-time registration in the TSPSC website, around 24,54,715 candidates have registered and around 48.34 lakh candidates have applied for the various posts.
The candidates who are qualified for Group 2 have been waiting since the last couple of years for an interview call from the TSPSC.
Recently, they appealed to the State Human Rights Commission to give them permission to attempt mass suicide as their future is bleak and they have no clarity from the government about their jobs. Currently the issue of Group II exam results is in the High Court. For the Group II alone, there were around eight lakh applicants for the test.
Many departments such as road, transport and police have a shortage of staff and the burden of extra work is being shared by the currently working employees. Forget about the other departments, according to sources, even the TSPSC doesn’t have enough employees to work efficiently. There are currently 91 employees when the sanctioned posts are 165.
