Telangana: Rajeev Kumar custody sought in Sirisha suicide case
Meanwhile, the relatives of Sirisha continued to allege that she was murdered and it was not a suicide.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police filed a petition in Nampally criminal court on Wednesday seeking custody of V. Rajeev Kumar and his friend B. Sravan Kumar, suspects in the Sirisha suicide case. Investigation officials sought six days custody of the accused to grill them further.
The police had earlier arrested Sirisha’s employer V. Rajeev and her friend B, Sravan, a realtor, in connection with the case. Police had found that besides sub inspector Prabhakar Reddy, who shot himself to death, molesting her, Rajeev also assaulted her multiple times while they were coming back to Hyderabad in their SUV. Rajeev punched Sirisha multiple times and abused her to make her shut up when she started crying for help. Police had found that Sirisha ended her life because of the abuse from the three men.
According to the investigation officials, Rajeev, who was in an illicit relationship with Sirisha, had started seeing another girl named Tejaswini, an HR manager in a software firm.
When a fight erupted between the two girls, Rajeev took help of SI Prabhakar, who in an inebriated condition allegedly tried to rape Sirisha during a discussion in his house.
Meanwhile, the relatives of Sirisha continued to allege that she was murdered and it was not a suicide.
