Subba Reddy to take oath as TTD chairman today
TTD authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled at 11 am.
Nellore: Senior YSRC leader Y.V. Subba Reddy will take oath on Saturday as chairman of the TTD Trust Board on Friday.
Mr Subba Reddy’s name was doing rounds for the post after the YSRC came to power recently. He was formally appointed on Friday.
TTD authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled at 11 am.
A close relative of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr Subba Reddy was elected to the Lok Sabha on a YSRC ticket from Ongole in 2014 and played a key role in the party.
Mr Subba Reddy did not contest the elections this time. It is believed that he may be elevated to the Rajya Sabha.
Mr Subba Reddy is the first TTD chairman from Prakasam district.
Earlier, the government dissolved the TTD Trust Board with immediate effect on Friday after accepting the resignation of board members. The action was taken based on a letter from TTD executive officer A.K. Singhal.
The members who in their papers include Ms Sudha Narayana Murthy, Mr Sugavasi Prasad Babu, Mr RudrarajuPadmaraju, Mr E. Peddi Reddy and Mr Dokka Jagannadham. The special invitees include Mr N. Srikrishna and Mr Bodanapu Ashok Reddy.
The resignation submitted by TTD Trust Board chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav on June 19 was accepted through a GO on Thursday.
