Bengaluru:  Drawing parallels between the present Donald Trump administration in the US and the Narendra Modi government in India,  the son of renowned civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr., Martin Luther King III on Friday charged that both Trump and Modi administrations have unleashed a ferocious animosity in both the countries on minorities.

Delivering his inaugural speech at the first Dr B.R. Ambedkar International conference here, Mr King III said that both leaders were voted to power in a democratic setup by appealing to the same voter base and these leaders have limited regard for the poor and the under-privileged.

Saying that cow vigilantism and lynching had become new normal in the country under Mr Modi, he said   “We support the Dalit movement and every Dalit and minority life matters.”
