Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police proposes to prevent the sale of petrol to helmetless two-wheeler riders in the city. Hyderabad Traffic DCP Babu Rao said the department was awaiting orders to implement the measure.
Last week, the prisons department had made it mandatory for two-wheeler riders to wear helmets if they wanted fuel at the 13 prison-run petrol stations in the state. Mr Babu Rao said, “We are seeking orders from the High Court. A meeting will be conducted soon with petrol pump owners in the city, as we believe that this move will make a difference.”
