N Chandrababu Naidu: Jalasiriki Harathi this month-end
The Chief Minister announced that a five-day event would be held at the end of this month, Jalasiriki Haarathi across the state.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during the weekly review of Polavaram through video conference, advised all the chief engineers of the 28 projects in the state to assess the data relating to groundwater, rainfall and soil moisture, prepare a report and submit the same in a week.
He wanted the officials to tell him if the different water bodies in various villages would be sufficient to meet the water needs of the people living nearby. On Monday, he heard to all what the officials told him about the project. The officials explained that about 1.88 lakh cubic metres of earth was excavated, concrete laid for spill way and stilling basin was 17,345 cubic metres, 15 out of the 384 arm girders and the skin plate for one radial gate was fabricated.
By the end of October, fabrication of all the arm girders will be completed. The Chief Minister announced that a five-day event would be held at the end of this month, “Jalasiriki Haarathi” across the state. He said it is time to express gratitude to the people for their support to the 28 priority projects, and to spread awareness about the government’s efforts in water management. Mr Chandrababu Naidu asked the officials to arrange for state-wide media tour for the mediapersons and take them to all the 28 projects.
