Bhuma Akhila Priya sends lorryload of invites

KURNOOL: The preparations for the wedding of tourism minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, which is likely to be very lavish with a lot of pomp and show, are picking up pace. Guests and relatives have started arriving into Allagadda for the marriage which is going to be solemnised on August 29 at the Shoba Nagi Reddy Engineering College. About 30,000 people are expected to grace the occasion, said a close relative of the Bhuma family, B.V. Rami Reddy.
A lorry load of wedding cards arrived a week back and were being distributed in all the villages of the Allagadda constituency and in Nandyal, which Ms Akhila says is her parents’ constituency. Ms Akhila weds Bhargav, a close relative of minister P. Narayana. Mr Rami Reddy said the ‘A list’ of invitees includes Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, IT minister N. Lokesh, ministers from TS, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, film stars, tourism industry honchos and who’s who of Rayalaseema politics.
The minister is said to have taken maximum care in designing the backdrop and marriage pandal. An event management company from Goa is carrying out the works related to the marriage. As far as shopping is concerned, Mr Rami Reddy said most of it was done at Hyderabad. He said, “Madam is very simple and doesn’t like pomp.” The marriage comes soon after Ms Akhila’s brother and Nandyal MLA Bhuma Bramhananda Reddy, was blessed with a baby girl last week. Her maternal uncle and Kurnool MLA, S.V. Mohan Reddy and her grandfather and former minister S.V Subba Reddy, are coordinating all political and official invitees.
