Mangaluru: Newly appointed  BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that steps are being taken to pacify unhappy leaders who were not inducted into the state cabinet. The cabinet formation on Tuesday has left many BJP leaders fuming  with even Dakshina Kannada district which Kateel represents in parliament not getting representation.

Some BJP legislators including Balachandra Jarkiholi, Umesh Katti and M.P. Renukacharya have expressed their annoyance over being left out with sources saying Katti has been placated with the offer of a berth in the second round of expansion.

Sources said these MLAs may however not cross the line by turning rebels even if they do not get into the ministry and could be expressing their dissatisfaction to make sure they are in the running for a berth in the second round.
