Alumni celebrate the homecoming
Some memories stay with us forever reminding us of those beautiful days.
KOZHiKODE: Some memories stay with us forever reminding us of those beautiful days. Around 3, 000 alumni gathered during the Deenul Islam Sabha Girls Higher Secondary School alumni meet 'Ormathoppu' held at NN Koyakkunji Square, Kannur, to meet their buddies between their busy schedules on September 18. The school witnessed the greatest get-together in the 118- year history of the school.
The gathering was like homecoming for many of the alumni. In the world of discrimination and differences there is a need for peace and harmony. This gathering was like a return to innocence, said alumni association general secretary E. Muhammed Rushdi. A four-month planning and contacting alumni through social media resulted in event. A promo video was also done in connection with it. The association organized a full-day programme, including 'Snehachooral' to honour the former teachers, a painting exhibition by alumna Shahanas Pallikkalam and Niyas Kannur's magic show.
Various sessions, seminars and awareness programmes were also held. The NN Koyakkunji Sahib Memorial Endowment award constituted by Care was given to Fathimathul Susana. The programme was inaugurated by Kannur Corporation Mayor E.P. Latha.
