Amit Shah, Hema Malini to address public meeting in Mathura on Sept 28
The public meeting is organised to mark the birth centenary of late Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
Mathura: BJP chief Amit Shah and party MP Hema Malini will address a public meeting at Nagla Chandrabhan in Farah on September 28 to mark the birth centenary of late Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
"Amit Shah, RSS Sahkaryavah Duttatrey Hasvole and Hema Malini will address the meeting on September 28," Kamal Kaushik, General Secretary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Smriti Mahotsava Samiti told reporters.
The fair, which used to be held for three days earlier, would be a five day affair this year.
"Besides paying rich tribute to late Deen Dayal Upadhyay, the aim of the fair is to associate maximum villagers with it so that in due course of time it becomes an annual fair," he said.
A number of programmes would be organised on the occasion. A competition would be organised on healthy cows while Mahila Lok Geet, Jikari and Bhajan, Rangoli competition, Rasiya Dangal and a wrestling competition would also be held, Samiti President Ashok Kumar Tentiwal said.
A general knowledge competition, program for children and Bal Krishna Swaroop Sajja are being organised to encourage more children to join school.
On September 26, 'Gram Vikas Pradarshani' to familiarise villagers with different trades and 'Bharat Mata Ki Aarti' to apprise the young generation about the great leader's philosophy would be organised.
Lal said the process of renaming Farah Halt station after Deen Dayal Upadhyay is underway. "The samiti is also trying for the release of a stamp to commemorate the occasion," he added.
Deen Dayal Upadhyay, born on September 25, 1916, was one of the most important leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the forerunner of the present day Bharatiya Janata Party.
