Depression led to 17-year-old Palash's suicide: Bengaluru police
Palash plunged to his death from the 18th floor of the upscale Prestige Shantiniketan apartment early Wednesday.
Bengaluru: The Kadugodi police investigating the suicide of 17-year-old Palash Chowdhury, a class 12 student have found that he was under depression and he took the extreme step due to that.
Palash plunged to his death from the 18th floor of the upscale Prestige Shantiniketan apartment early Wednesday. He was a student of The International School Bengaluru, was the son of Pradeep Chowdhury, an IT professional with a private company in Electronics City. The family was living in a gated community in the same locality. Palash had come to his friend’s flat at Prestige Shantiniketan on the ITPL Road early Wednesday and took the extreme step.
It is learnt that he sent a message to his friends on a WhatsApp group it was his last message, suggesting he is ending his life. But, it was too late before they could see and inform others about it.
“We are investigating the case from all angles, but the preliminary probe has revealed that he was under depression and lost interest in life. His father has made a statement that Palash had lost interest over life. We are further investigating,” Abdul Ahad, DCP (Whitefield) said.
