Doctor found with live bullet at RGI Airport, booked

The bullet belonged to the doctor's father, Krishna Rao, who retired from the police department more than a decade ago.

Hyderabad: A live bullet was found in the baggage of a passenger at RGI Airport on Thursday morning. 

The police found a live round in the baggage of P. Satish Rao, a doctor who was on his way to Kanpur. 

The bullet belonged to Satish’s father-in-law, Krishna Rao, who retired from the police department more than a decade ago. Krishna Rao had lost the bullet while in service and had lodged a complaint.

According to the police, Satish Rao, a doctor from LB Nagar in Hyderabad, was on his way to Kanpur where he was pursuing higher studies.

While passing through the security check in the airport, a live .32mm bullet was found in his baggage.

 “The bullet belonged to his father-in-law who retired as a deputy superintendent of police. Mr Rao lost the bullet while he was in service.” said Mr M Mahesh, inspector RGI Airport police station.

A case under the Arms Act was registered against Satish Rao.
