Hyderabad: 200 special Dasara trains

Officials are expecting 3 lakh passengers daily till September 29.

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) is expecting one lakh more passengers from three railway stations in the city to various destinations in the view of the Dasara holidays. Officials are expecting 3 lakh passengers daily till September 29.

SCR, which operates 148 special trains from the city, has announced 200 special trains and the number will be increased based on the demand.

M. Uma Shankar Kumar, chief public relations officer of SCR, told this newspaper, “Special trains are having a special fare which is slightly higher than regular trains,” he said.

He said that SCR was concentrating more on safety and punctuality and are deploying additional RPF personnel.

"All the platforms in Secunderabad Railway Station are under strict surveillance of CCTVs and we are deploying additional RPF personnel," he said.
