Yadadri will have airport security

Hyderabad: Pilgrims will be frisked before entering the new Yadadri temple complex as part of the improved security arrangements.

The main security point will be set up at the bus terminal in the town, according to an official of the Yadadri Temple Development Authority. All pilgrims must take RTC buses to the temple from the town.

Pilgrims will be allowed into the bus terminal after a security check, which will be on par with airports and will use scanners and metal detectors, an official said. The buses will drop pilgrims at a bus bay near the compled, from where they can directly move to the queue complex where they will be checked for gadgets. There will be another check based on suspicion, and the main temple will have jammers.

  • 100 CCTV cameras will be installed in and around Yadadri temple complex except at the sanctum sanctorum.
  • Rachakonda police will insist local traders install CCTV cameras.
  • 20 door frame and 100 hand-held metal detectors required.
