Indigo with passengers lands at Kannur international airport
The flight departed by 4 p.m. fter completing all the six approaches.
Kannur: An Indigo ATR 72 passenger flight landed at Kannur international airport here on Friday to test the landing capability of the airport. The flight departed from Kochi international airport by 1.49 p.m., reached Kannur by 2.23 p.m. and landed at the airport at 3.43 p.m. Captain Sateesh Veera was in charge of the flight.
The airport fire department gave a water salute to the Indigo aircraft on its landing. As planned, a total of six approaches to the airport were carried out for the procedural check on the efficiency of the runway. The flight departed by 4 p.m. fter completing all the six approaches.
It may be recalled that the first passenger aircraft, Air India Express Boeing 737-800, had landed at Kannur airport on Thursday.
Hundreds of people gathered on the airport premises to watch the landing of the aircraft and cheered when the flight landed.
The KIAL meet scheduled to be held on September 29 in Thiruvananthapuram chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will announce the opening of the airport.
