‘Pailwaan’ in piracy Kurukshetra!

Bengaluru: It's the ultimate betrayal - cutting what could have been a star run at the box office with leak after leak of the whole movie on social media!  

Kannada movies have been reeling audiences in, with films like KGF, Kurukshetra and the latest Pailwaan. But make no mistake Sandalwood is under attack from within -  by new age pirates!  

Despite Kichcha Sudeepa's Pailwaan opening to rave reviews, the illegal viewing of the movie after the pirated version of it was uploaded on the Internet has resulted in huge losses for its makers. In fact, there's more to the piracy episode than meets the eye - it's a battle between the die-hard fans of two star actors - Kichcha Sudeepa and Darshan  - indulging in a round after round of shadow boxing! And leaks!

And Kichcha Sudeepa, who plays the protagonist's role in Pailwaan knows it. He said after a meeting with the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,  and the arrest of one cyber-leaker, "About the piracy of Pailwaan, I shall not rest till I get to the root of it. Those who played with our hard work shall pay," adding threateningly, "a few have tested my silence and patience, and those who are behind this act to destroy the hard work of the entire team of Pailwaan shall not sleep peacefully hereafter." Actor Darshan - who reacted without being specifically named - posted a message on his twitter handle saying that he is currently out of station warned "people" not to provoke his fans or as he refers to them -his "celebrities!"  In fact, the two Kannada move stalwarts have been post ing messages without naming the other on their respective social media accounts.
