NIA, ED raids PFI offices in AP, Telangana
Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Directorate of Enforcement (ED) officials have jointly conducted raids on the offices of Popular Front of India (PFI) and their leaders, members' residences across the country including several places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The NIA officials have conducted searches at the PFI office located at Chandrayanagutta and seized computer hard disks, laptops, and organisers mobile phones. Later, NIA officials served notices to office staff asking them to appear before NIA officials for questioning. The NIA officials seized office premises.
Similar raids have been conducted in LB Nagar, Autonagar, Uppal and other locations in Hyderabad. The NIA officials have conducted raids in Karimnagar and detained suspects. The officials have recovered bank passbooks, statements, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets from the suspects.
The Investigation agency suspects that the PFI members allegedly received huge funds from unknown sources and indulged in illegal activities by creating disturbances. The ED officials, who have participated in raids, have also verified financial transactions made between PFI members, leaders and others.
