Governor empowered to decide on AP offices: Kadiam

Kadiam said, Governor is empowered to take a decision about returning the AP offices to Telangana as per AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Hyderabad: The TS Cabinet on Friday approved a resolution urging Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to hand over the AP Secretariat blocks and offices allotted to AP in the common capital of Hyderabad to TS.

Briefing the media about the Cabinet meeting, Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari said, “It has come to our notice that the AP CM has expressed his willingness to hand over their vacant Secretariat blocks and offices in Hyderabad to Telangana after discussing it in a Cabinet meeting soon.” He added that the Governor was empowered to take a decision about returning the AP offices to Telangana as per AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

The Cabinet also approved changing the names of six new districts as Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Jogulamba Gadwal district, Rajanna Siricilla district and Jayashankar Bhoopalapally district.

Mr Srihari said another Cabinet sub-committee headed by himself had been approved to recommend measures to improve standards in universities by bringing a common universities Act and conducting common entrance exams and admissions.

He also informed that the CM had given directions to clear all pending dues of fee reimbursement, Aarogyasri and the crop loan waiver scheme within a month.
The Cabinet also decided to upgrade 2487 language pundits and 1047 PETs (physical education trainers) in government schools as school assistants.
