Hyderabad: 22 jailed for drunk driving on Diwali

Hyderabad: Diwali boozing turned dear for some, as 22 drivers were arrested for drunk and driving by the Hyderabad police. The crackdown by the city police collected a fine of whopping Rs 2.89 lakh for the state government.

The licence of four drivers has also been cancelled out of which one person’s licence has been cancelled for 2 years. The drive, which was conducted between October 16 and October 20, found 138 drivers guilty of breaching the law. 

Chargesheets have been filed against the arrested. The arrested 22 have been sent to the Chanchalguda jail whereas the other violators have been sent for counselling.
