Indian Railways to run 1384 trains in South Central region for festive season
These trains will either start from the South Central region, pass through it or stop in the region
Hyderabad: To cater to the rush during the festive season, Indian Railways has reportedly decided to hike the fare by 30 percent for special and clone trains until November 30. At least 1,384 trains will be operational during the festive season in the South Central Region, confirmed the SCR CPRO, Ch Rakesh. These trains will either start from the South Central region, pass through it or stop in the region, he said.
Speaking on the hike in fares, Ch. Rakesh said, "Whenever special trains are run for festival season, this is the nominal fare that is charged. To call it a hike, is not right."
The Railway Ministry had earlier approved Zonal Railways' proposal for the operation of 196 pairs of Festival Special trains. The trains will be operated till 30 November.
