Hyderabad: There has been no change in the fate of two millionaire-turned-beggars after their release from Anand Ashram. Ashram incharge K. Arjun Rao said Ms Farzona and Ms Rabiya Baseera were released upon the submission of declarations by their kin promising that they would not return to begging. Both seen begging at the Bagdadi Baba Dargah at Langar Houz on Tuesday.
“I returned from the UK 12 years ago. I have been having problems for the past two years, so I have come here. I don’t want to talk about this anymore,” Ms Farzona said. She is known to distribute the money she earns among the other beggars who call her “madam”. Ms Baseera, who is a green card-holder, said that she was taking shelter at the dargah, but not begging. A staff member from the dargah said she was suffering from psychiatric problems, for which she was receiving treatment.
