Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court was not inclined to direct the revenue authorities to allow film actor Prabhas to enter his guest house located at Pan Maktha at Raidu-rgam, which had been locked by the Serlingampally tahsildar. The court asked the government to file a counter by Dec. 31.

A division bench comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice J .Uma Devi was hearing the petition of Prabhas alias Uppalapati Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju seeking directions to revenue authorities not to interfere in his land. The bench said it would proceed in the matter only after reviewing the contention of the revenue authorities.

The bench said that it will not issue ex-parte directions and orally observed that the status quo will remain till  further directions. It asked the Ranga Reddy district revenue authorities to submit their claims on the land. Prabhas through his representative D.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju had approached the court alleging that revenue authorities had intervened in his land admeasuring 2,083 sq.yards at Raidurgan Pan Maktha, which he had bought in 2005 and 2006 through registered sale deeds. He said he had paid '1.05 crore for regularisation of the land under G.O No 59, which was introduced by the state government in 2014.

Special counsel for the government reported to the court that the land belonged to the state government and was in Survey No. 46, but Prabhas claimed that it was in Sy. No  5/3. He told the court that authorities would not demolish the construction until the issue is cleared.

Before starting the hearing, the court asked if the petitioner fell under the below the poverty line (BPL), for which the special counsel explained that he had acted in the film Baahubali. The court expressed dissatisfaction on the regularisation scheme for encroachers of government land and said that it was because of that scheme that the petitioner has some legal points.

Special counsel explained that Prabhas’ regularisation application was rejected and he sought time to submit the rejection file.
