No Confidence Motion Against Armoor Municipal Chairperson Set for January 4

Municipal councillors gather to discuss the impending no confidence motion against Armoor municipal chairperson Pandit Vineetha.

Nizamabad: A no confidence motion (NCM) will be initiated against Armoor municipal chairperson Pandit Vineetha on January 4.

On December 12, of the 36 municipal councillors in Armoor municipality, 24 had submitted a memorandum to district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu seeking an NCM against municipal chairperson Vineetha.

After going through the memorandum, the collector ordered on Thursday that the no confidence motion will be taken up on January 4.

Of the 36 municipal councillors, 30 belong to the BRS party. Pandit Vineetha also belongs to the BRS. Her own party councillors have proposed an NCM against her.

A section of the municipal councillors has alleged Vineetha’s husband Pandit Pavan and his brother Prem are involved in high-level corruption in the municipality with the support of the chairperson. It is reported that former BRS MLA A. Jeevan Reddy has green signalled the no confidence motion against Pandit Vineetha.
BRS municipal councillors Vanneldevi Lavanya and Khandesh Sangeetha are the aspirants for the chairperson’s post.
