Jagan sanctions ₹500 crore to modernise GGH Guntur
Minister Rajini unveils plans for improved healthcare as CM Jagan Mohan Reddy allocates ₹500 crore to GGH Guntur.
Vijayawada: Health minister Vidadala Rajini celebrated the birthday of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Government General Hospital in Guntur on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajini said the CM has sanctioned ₹500 crore to GGH Guntur for making available improved services to people. She pointed out that development works at the hospital are being taken up under the guidance of Guntur Medical College Alumni of North America), who are also contributing ₹86 crore for the Mother and Child Care Ward at the Guntur hospital.
The minister said to provide complete medical services to people, state government has undertaken many programmes, such as the family doctor visits, Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha and development of teaching hospitals. She maintained that the Chief Minister wants to give top priority to the health of people.
Rajini said through CSR funds, two ambulances worth ₹30 lakh each have been granted to Guntur to serve the city’s West and East constituencies. These are in addition to the 108 vehicles already providing their services.
She revealed that permission has been granted to construct a service block at GGH at a cost of ₹7.5 crore and work on it will start soon.
MLAs Maddali Giridhar and Md. Mustafa, GGH superintendent Dr. Kiran Kumar, PACS chairman Lalupuram Ramu and deputy mayor Sheik Sajida were among those who participated in the programme.
