Hirakhand Express derailment: 7 of a family from Bihar killed
The bodies of the Madan Dhami's wife Ranjan, daughter Chanda (2-year-old) was beyond recognition.
Rayagada: Stunned and shocked Madan Dhami from Samastipur of Bihar was looking here and there, sitting at the corner of the district hospital. Because, the world has turned dark and meaningless as he lost seven members of his family members including his wife and two-year-old daughter.
He was telling some police officials and hospital staff that he lost his seven family members in the mishap, but no one believed. He was unable to take the name of his town and family members under the shock of the incident.
The identification of the bodies could be done after his brother Rajesh Dhami and sister-in-law who escaped from the jaws of the death being in the same train came to the hospital.
The bodies of the Madan Dhami’s wife Ranjan, daughter Chanda (2-year-old) was beyond recognition. Rajesh told his another brother Biswanath Dhami and Kuni who had married just two months ago also died in the incident. His sisters Tilak Kumari, Pulo and brother Sahi Dhami also died in the incident.
“I just somehow managed to jump off the train with my wife after the train derailed. We had boarded the train from Rayagada. We had planned to get down at Vizianagram and move to Gupur to sale the collected honey. But, we dint know it would be our last visit together in pursuit of livelihood,” said Rajesh.
They have sought help from the government to cremate the bodies of their relatives there as they cannot afford the expenses for all. The police officials issuing the death certificates confirmed that they were relatives.
