AAP should stop playing victim, says Shazia Ilmi
She said that the election commission (EC) conducted a detailed inquiry and heard all the affected parties in the matter.
BENGALURU: “I think it’s wrong of AAP to always blame someone else by playing the victim card," Shazia Ilmi, vice-president, Delhi BJP unit, told Deccan Chronicle on Monday as she talked about the recent disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs by the President on the recommendation of the Election Commission. She said that the election commission (EC) conducted a detailed inquiry and heard all the affected parties in the matter.
The 20 MLAs had sent their lawyers, she said when asked about AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s letter saying the disqualified MLAs did not get a fair chance to present their case. “It was the general administration department (GAD) that gave the report to the EC, which stated that Rs 12-13 lakh was sent by GAD to the Public Works Department to get 21 executive chairs,” she said. Ilmi, who is also the BJP spokesperson, was confident of her party winning the by-polls for the 20 seats of disqualified MLAs.
