Anantapur: Six held in student murder case

The innocent student was beaten to death for no reason.

Anantapur: Six persons, including five minors, were arrested in connection with the murder of an Intermediate student near SC/ST hostel in Anantapur four days ago.

Balu Naik, an Intermediate student from S.S.B.N. College, who was residing SC/ST hostel in LIG Bus Stop area in APHB colony, here was beaten to death by unidentified persons four days ago. The innocent student was beaten to death for no reason.

One Town police nabbed the culprits on Monday. One Town inspector Raghavan said the student was hit with hard brick on the stomach region by six persons at a deserted area, few metres away from the hostel.

Among the six persons K. Manikanta, 19, was the only major, who was a construction worker from Navodaya Colony and Sake Natesh, Intermediate student, Arun Kumar, polytechnic student of Anantapur College,  Sudhakar and Ramanjaneyulu, who were also construction workers attacked student in drunken state.

The six went on two motor cycles bought liquor at Vidyutnagar circle and went to the outskirts of APHB colony in the afternoon on the day of incident. While returning after consuming liquor all of them noticed Balu Naik and his friends.

They abused Balu Naik and attacked in deep drunken state where the innocent student suffered serious injuries. The student died while being treated at a hospital the next day. Raghavan said two vehicles were also seized from the accused.
