Mahamaham pilgrims pleased with arrangements
Pilgrims came straight from bus terminus and railway stations, left the luggage on the tank bund and entered the tank.
Kumbakonam: For Anand from Chennai, this is the second Mahamaham. He came to his brother's house at Mayiladuthurai and from there reached here by train to take a holy dip. "
The arrangements were excellent," he said. Murugan from Puducherry came with his family members. He said that this is the third Mahamaham for him. He also appreciated the arrangements. Raghu from Bengaluru came by bus and took holy dip in the tank. For him this is the second Mahamaham.
People by and large appreciated the arrangements. Devotees were allowed in queues from early morning. Pilgrims came straight from bus terminus and railway stations, left the luggage on the tank bund and entered the tank.
There were many who waited for the auspicious time between 12 noon and one pm to take the holy dip. But majority of the people took bath even before the auspicious time and moved out of the tank.
