Telangana: Nalgonda boy dies in hospital

Hyderabad: The Nalgonda Class VIII student, who ran away from school after leaving a suicide note three days ago, died in a Vijayawada hospital early on Monday morning.

The boy, G. Nagarjuna Reddy, who had alleged harassment by the school correspondent and two other students, was found in a village in Krishna district with 80 per cent burns two days ago.

The police has now booked a case under Section 174 (suspicious death).  Nalgonda Huzurnagar police handed over the suicide note to the Krishna district police for investigation.

Krishna district police said the boy died while undergoing treatment. “The body will be handed over to his parents after autopsy. We have mentioned Section 174 in the First Information Report for further investigation,” said  Chillakallu police sub inspector M. Vamshi.

Huzurnagar police, who had earlier booked a missing case after the student fled from school, are handing over the investigation to the Krishna district police since the suicide occurred in their jurisdiction.

“The suicide note we got from his school and other details of the case are being handed over to the Chillakallu police,” said Huzurnagar sub inspector A. Ranjit Reddy.

Nagarjuna Reddy was earlier accused of theft and allegedly humiliated by the Chaitanya Concept School correspondent Damodhar Reddy.

The 13-year-old boy left school on Thursday evening. Next day, he was found with severe burns near a petrol pump in Chillakallu village in Krishna district.  
He was taken to hospital by the police and villagers.  

In his dying declaration to the magistrate, Nagarjuna Reddy said that he left school to commit suicide. But, three people kidnapped him and brought him to Chillakallu.

The police has not yet booked a case against the school correspondent and others named in the suicide note of the victim.
