Kochi: Actor Dileep has denied the allegations linking him with the abduction of the actress and said he had no links with the accused. Dileep with over 20 lakh followers clarified his stand in a Facebook post on Wednesday in the wake of the allegations levelled on the social media and in a section of media against him.

“I saw reports that  ‘police questioned a top actor based in Aluva in connection with the abduction of the actress.’ That actor is not me. Not even a single cop had entered my house these days. They have not even contacted me over phone either,” Dileep said.

“I am an average person living with my wife and kid. Just like the whole Keralites I am also looking forward to see the culprit getting punished.   I don't have any connections with the accused involved in the case. I request the cops to arrest all the accused in the case as early as possible and bring out the truth,”  Dileep said.

He  added, “Recently I was forced to interfere in the theatre owners’ strike issue. I became the torch-bearer of the strike owing to the pressure exerted by all those involved in the film fraternity. Some 'persons' behind the incident are trying to attack me,” he said.

His fans welcomed the Facebook post and several persons supported him for clearing the air. Close to 10,000 people responded to the post hours after his update.
