KANNUR: It was Akash Thillankery who sourced vehicles for the gang that murdered Youth Congress leader S.P. Shuhaib, according to police. The vehicle was rented out from Taliparamba.   Akash had reached the place for this on the previous days of the murder, the police claimed. The CPM leadership at Edayannur which allegedly gave the quotation to Akash also ensured necessary logistic and transport support to the gangsters.

The police has also received the details of five persons who participated in the murder, including Akash and Rejin. The other three are still at large and the police have failed to locate the hiding spots. When the police start a raid at a particular hideout, the local party leaders receive information about it much before the police reach the spot.
