Water grid to be established at a cost of Rs 22,000 crore: Nara Lokesh

Vijayawada: PR and RD minister Nara Lokesh promised to provide safe drinking water to every household by establishing a water grid with an expenditure of Rs 22,000 crore. Safe drinking water will be supplied to every household in Krishna district spending Rs 83 crore. The minister inaugurated a few development works in Gannavaram constituency on Thursday and addressed a public meeting.
Mr Lokesh had laid foundation stone for the Budameru bridge works in Ungutur, taken up at a cost of Rs 24 crore and also laid foundation for a primary health centre to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.18 crore, Unguturu lake beautification works worth Rs 60 lakh and new buildings for Unguturu ZP High School estimated to cost Rs 1.5 crore. Addressing the people, the minister said Gannavaram is developing slowly.
He said that earlier only three flights used to fly from the Gannavaram airport but now, nearly 50 flights are operating from the city to various parts in the country and even abroad. “Medha Towers which was once empty is now getting occupied by locals who are working as employees.” He also reminded that one of the prestigious IT institution HCL is establishing their campus in Gannavaram which can generate employment.
He reeled out all that happened in Vijayawada and the Capital post bifurcation. He reminded that despite many hurdles, the TD government is striving hard to fulfill the promises made during the elections right from the waiver of farmers and Dwcra women’s loans to supply of quality power, Rs 1,000 monthly pension to 50 lakh pensioners, construction of 19 lakh houses, rapid growth in rural infrastructure, rural underground drainage, sanitation, ODF, LED bulbs, Chandranna Bima, gas connections, electricity connections, drinking water, fibre net connection, Rs 10,000 income to each poor family and others.
He said the government is taking care of the citizens right from one’s brith till the last rites by implementing various welfare programmes like Talli Bidda Express to supplying baby kits and supplying transportation facility to graveyards by providing Maha Prasthanam vehicles and transforming the graveyards into greener and neat places.
