Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Thursday condemned party MP Ravindra Gaikwad's act of beating an Air India employee with his slipper and said that it would find out as to what made him lose his temper.

"Whatever happened was unfortunate. We will speak to Gaikwad and try to find out what went wrong. The matter will be taken up by our party chief Uddhav Thackeray. We want to find out what made him lose his temper and what instigated him to do such an act," Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande told ANI.

Kayande further stated that the Shiv Sena does not advocate such behavior, adding these kinds of acts should be condemned.

"Gaikwad has agreed that he has done it. However, the Shiv Sena does not advocate such behavior. Such acts should be condemned and one should not take law into their own hands," said Kayande.

Earlier in the day, Gaikwad admitted that he hit an Air India staffer with his slipper allegedly because he was denied a business class seat.

Gaikwad, who was travelling from Pune to New Delhi, said that he had filed a complaint regarding the sitting arrangement but nobody was there to answer the problem.
