Not connected with Pollachi sex scam, says Myura Jayakumar

Coimbatore: “I am in no way connected with the Pollachi sex scam,” said the Congress party’s state executive president for Tamil Nadu Myura Jayakumar on Friday.  

During the four day CB-CID custody investigation, Thirunavukarasu, the alleged gang leader of the Pollachi sex scandal, revealed vital information. He also claimed that he was not present at Pollachi during the incident and had accompanied his father to the Congress party office at Coimbatore to meet Myura Jayakumar.

Following Thirunavukarasu’s statement a couple of days ago, CB-CID Police summoned Myura Jayakumar for an enquiry in connection with the Pollachi sex scandal. He appeared before the CB-CID SP on Thursday and gave a written statement.

Later, Myura Jayakumar met the press and said, ‘’I am no way connected with the Pollachi sex scam.’ He also claimed that he did know Thirunavukarasu. ‘’The CB-CID Police asked me whether Thirunavukarasu visited the Congress party office on February 12th.  I am not sure as I do not know who Thirunavukarasu is,” he said.

“A group of around 30 people from Pollachi led by former youth wing president Rajasekar met me on February 12th to felicitate me at the party office, while Thirunavukarasu’s father Kanaka Raj who is not a party member and only a sympathizer of the Congress party also accompanied Rajasekar. I am ready to cooperate with the CB-CID investigation whenever they call me,” added Myura Jayakumar.
