Hyderabad: Parents get fee support
Call to fearlessly speak against schools' high-handed attitude.
Hyderabad: The School Fee Regulation JAC will extend all support to parents if their children are targeted by school managements. Retired HC judge Justice Chandra Kumar too said that he would extend all help including legal services if school managements went to the extent of troubling children of parents who had objected to their high handed ways.
Justice Kumar as well as Prof. Shanta Sinha, noted anti-child labour crusader and Dr M. Bullaiah (IFS), lauded the parents for expressing their views without worrying about the chance of their children being targeted.
Many parents spoke at the public hearing on Friday. Ms Rosleene, whose children study in a missionary school, said that the names of children were put up on notice boards within two to three days of the expiry of the fee deadline. “Is it fair to induce mental trauma in children when what is needed is to speak to parents directly on the matter?” she asked.
Ms Glory Sagar, her sister from Kukatpally, stressed on the need to regulate indiscriminate fee hike in private schools. She said she wanted to spread awareness in her area where scores of private schools had mushroomed.
JAC members N. Narayana, Aravinda Jata, Ashish Naredi and Seema Agarwal vowed to fight on till the government took concrete steps in the matter. A missed call campaign was launched on this occasion and parents were asked to dial a number (8686004050) to express their support for the cause.
