No plans to move NTR Ghat: KCR
Recently the Ambedkar statue was installed near NTR Gardens.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that his government will not be shifting the NTR Ghat. “Recently the Ambedkar statue was installed near NTR Gardens and people started rumours. I want to clarify that NTR Ghat will be there forever and there are no plans to move it,” said KCR during the launch of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th film at a private studio in Hyderabad.
He added, “People used to call us ‘Madrasis’, and at that time, NTR gave an identity to Telugu people.” He also praised Balakrishna for choosing the story of the great Telugu ruler Gautamiputra Satakarni. “This is not a small thing as Balakrishna is doing a film on a great ruler who belongs to the Telugu people. Every Telugu person should watch this film and know about the king. I hope Balakrishna arranges the first show for me when it is ready for release,” said the Chief Minister.
Balakrishna, meanwhile, dedicated the film to his fans and all the mothers in India. “Many people don’t know about this warrior; He was born in Kotilingalu in Telangana and ruled the entire India with Amaravathi of Andhra Pradesh as his capital,” said Balakrishna, adding that he was doing the film because he wanted to tell the tale of this Telugu warrior to the entire world. Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Dasari Narayana Rao and many other Tollywood celebrities attended the event.
