CPM leaders conspired to kill me: C O T Naseer

Kozhikode: The CPM rebel candidate of Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency C.O.T. Naseer alleged on Wednesday that it was CPM leaders who conspired to kill him.

The 37-year-old, talking to reporters from his hospital bed, said that the CPM local committee members of Kolassery and another prominent leader of Thalassery were behind the attempt on his life.

He is inching back to normalcy at a private hospital here after the attack by a suspected CPM killer squad on May 18.

"Three persons attacked me who can be identified easily," he said, adding that he doesn't believe that P. Jayarajan, whom he's challenging in Vadakara, had any role in the attack.

"I was informed that they were observing my movements for the last many days."

He also alleged a cover-up attempt by arresting only the three assailants and saving the conspirators.

"The conspiracy will not be proved which will help conspirators to attempt another attempt on my life," he said. "I have already submitted a complaint to election commission against the police."

He said the cops recorded his statement when he was not able to speak, and none came after that.
