On poll-eve, BRS party pins hopes on visible development' in towns
ADILABAD: The ruling BRS party’s leadership and sitting MLAs are pinning their hopes on the spectacular development across the assembly constituencies the Adilabad region and expecting a favourable verdict in the upcoming assembly polls.
The road widening and beautification works have changed the face of Adilabad town. The town is under an image makeover and it hopes to get the status of a Municipal Corporation. So is the case with the Mancherial and Nirmal towns.
The developmental pushes included the beautification of towns with road-widening, the central lighting system, water fountains, dividers, setting up of a welcome arch at the town entrance and beautification of parks and chowrastas in Adilabad, Nirmal and Mancherial.
The municipalities are installing statues of different types at vantage points on the main roads.
Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna said the authorities have taken up the four-lane road works and beatification of Adilabad the town at a total cost of Rs 69 crore. The city has undergone many changes for easing traffic congestion through steps like road-widening and conversion of the existing two-lane system to four-lane in the town.
The BRS legislator claimed that the BRS government spent crores of rupees for the development of towns and helped ease situations of traffic jams, congested roads and narrow lanes. He thanked municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao for sanctioning special funds for development of Adilabad town.
An 'I LOVE Adilabad' selfie point was developed at the collector’s camp office. This apart, a total of nine chowks have been developed in the Adilabad town. The popular Vinayak chowk has undergone tremendous change. A gigantic structure came up in the same place and the road connecting to this place was elevated towards the NTR chowk.
The Komaram Bheem Chowk and Jagjivan Ram Chowk were also expanded and beautification works taken up there. The roads linked to these spots were also converted into four lanes.
However, at the same time, traffic has increased manifold in recent times. Hundreds of new vehicles and bikes are added to the existing vehicles every year, especially in the last five years.
The 'Haritha Vanam' developed near Mavala is also attracting hundreds of visitors and tourists on holidays.
In Nirmal, a mini tank bund was developed besides creation of a good bus stand. The main road was widened into a four-lane system and a central lighting facility was provided in the town.
Town beautification works have been taken up at various centers in the Mancherial town. The IB chowrasta near the district government hospital as also Bellampalli and TTD chowrasta, Laxmi talkies chowrasta in the Mancherial town have all seen major improvements.
