Ministers T P Ramakrishnan visit kin of victims in landslide

KOZHIKODE: Excise and labour minister T.P. Ramakrishnan visited relatives of Shamna who was killed in the landslide at Kattippara. The tragedy claimed the lives of Shamna, daughter Niya Fathima, mother-in-law Aasya, father-in-law Hassan, sisters Nusrath and Jannath and kin Rinsha Mehrin and Riswan Mariam. 

Transport minister A.K. Saseendran also visited the affected areas and the people. “Rs 4 lakh will be allotted for those who lost agriculture land in the disaster, Rs 6 lakh for those who lost house will be distributed soon, said the excise minister.

Further in the meeting he said, “The Government is all set to introduce more projects to develop the disaster management team in the State”. Technological advancement would be given more importance in the disaster management sector. The relief camps would be more activated with sufficient food, water and other needs, he further added.
