IMD issues yellow alert for four districts in Kerala
The districts are Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasargode.
KOCHI: The Indian Metereological Department (IMD), Thiruvananthapuram centre, has issued yellow alert in four districts in the state on Sunday predicting isolated heavy rains in these districts.
The districts are Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasargode. The other districts will witness light to moderate rainfall in the day.
There is no special warning for fishermen on Kerala and Lakshadweep areas from the centre. The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, has warned of high waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.2 metres from 5.30 pm on June 22 to 10.30 pm on June 23 along the coast of Kerala from Pozhiyoor to Kasargod.
IMD national bulletin has predicted heavy rainfall at a few places with very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Southwest Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Bihar.
