Krishnagiri: Three including two women killed in cracker godown blast
Two others escaped death but sustained injuries as they were thrown out of the premises in the impact of the explosion.
Krishnagiri: In a tragic incident, three workers were blown into pieces in an explosion that took place here in a private fire cracker godown at Jogipatti village in Mathur police limits of Krishnagiri district on Saturday.
As many as 15 workers were inside the premises when the blast took place this evening in the mango farm where the explosive unit was run by one K. Rishwan Basha (45) of Sampalpatti in the district.
According to eye-witnesses, the blast was so huge that the two among four concrete structures used for making crackers and another for storing them were reduced to dust.
The deceased whose bodies were blown up into pieces and thrown helter-skelter were identified as A. Hameed (30), and the two women casualties were G. Ankayarkani @ Ankiyakka (45) and K. Aashiyaa (35), all belonging to Sampallpatti.

The fire tender vehicles from Mathur and Poochampalli doused the fire and the fire fighting staff conducted search to check if any victim was trapped alive in the debris or lying dead.
The Krishnagiri district SP Sri Bhandi Gangadhar rushed to the spot and supervised the rescue operations. The Mathur police registered a case and are conducting a probe on what triggered the blast killing three workers.
