Hyderabad: The city police will be deploying extra forces for the upcoming Bonalu celebrations this year.

Check posts will be set up and people frisked for public safety and security.
DCP South Zone, V. Satyanarayana said around one lakh devotees are expected.
“About 2,000 policemen, 10 She Teams, five anti-snatching teams and anti-sabotage teams will be deployed at junctions and we will be installing 200 temporary CC cameras during this period, the feed of which will be monitored 24x7 at the control room,” he said.
The Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu in Secunderabad will be celebrated on July 29 (Bonalu) and 30 (Rangam). The North Zone police has urged all department officials to make elaborate arrangements for the festival at the earliest and erect barricades to regulate the huge rush of devotees.
Officials also said that no permission will be given for DJs, and keeping in view past incidents. Commissioner of Police Hyderabad has appealed to the public not to believe in rumours and to bring anything questionable in the social media to the notice of the local police. Sharing objectionable posts will land the persons involved in trouble, he warned.
