Mysuru: Cauvery dams receive good inflow
On Sunday, the KRS dam in Mandya released 48,859 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu while Kabini released 33,333 cusecs.
Mysuru: Rains continue to lash the Cauvery catchment area with the inflow into dams and the consequent outflow from reservoirs in the basin still pretty high.
On Sunday, the KRS dam in Mandya released 48,859 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu while Kabini released 33,333 cusecs. Hemavathi reservoir released 14,574 cusecs and the Harangi reservoir released 8,600 cusecs.
With good rains in Kodagu and other districts in the Cauvery basin, KRS received 31,534 cusecs of water and the level stood at 123.25 ft.
The water level at KRS on the same day in the previous year was 84.70 ft.
With good rains in Wyanad, Kabini received 31,420 cusecs, and the water level on Sunday was 2,283.33 ft as against its capacity-2,284 ft. Last year on the same day, it stood at 2,273.36 feet.
At Hemavathi, the water level on Sunday stood at 2,919.93 ft as against its capacity of 2,922 ft.
The inflow was 18,751cusecs. Last year on the same day, the water level was 2,885.72 ft.
Harangi reservoir level stood at 2,857.41 ft as against its capacity of 2,859 ft on Sunday. It received an inflow of 11,067 cusecs.
The Kabini reservoir had filled up on June 15 and Harangi on July 7. The KRS and Hemavathi dams filled up on July 14.
