Launch delay not to impact moon mission: Mylswamy Annadurai
Dr. Annadurai said, Chandrayaan-II will make India globally known in the field of space research.
COIMBATORE: A week-long delay in launching the ambitious Chandrayaan-II mission by Isro will not impact the moon mission, Dr Mylswamy Annadurai, eminent space scientist who is now vice-president of Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), said while inaugurating the techno forum and project expo at the Sri Krishna Arts and Science College (SKASC), here on Monday.
Calling the lunar mission yet another milestone for the country, the Padma Shri awardee, Dr. Annadurai said "Chandrayaan-II will make India globally known in the field of space research. “This will further develop our countries’ research activities. Though we have entered in the field of space research after 40 years when compared to other countries, currently, India is one among the top countries in space research in the world,” he said.
Dr Mylswami who was project director of ‘Chandrayaan-I’, said “India is the first country to discover the availability of water in the moon. Currently, our country is leading in missile development and we areapproached by about 70 countries in missile development. Our country is capable of simultaneously preparing 20 missiles at one time.” he said.
