The chief minister's Facebook live was part of CPM's recent decision to use social media in a big way to connect directly with the people. The recent central committee meeting in Delhi which conducted a detailed review of the polls, had also emphasised on using social media platform and other tools to interact with the common man.

After Pinarayi Vijayan's Facebook live, the party has scheduled the next interaction with CPM state secretary and politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. He will be going live on Tuesday at 7 pm fielding questions from the people. More leaders including CPM ministers will come live on social media over the next couple of months.

The chief minister fielded questions on various issues; national politics, Sabarimala issue, attacks on lone Left government in the country, Palarivattom, Nissan and University College.

Pinarayi came down heavily on Congress accusing it of joining hands with the BJP to target the lone left government in the country. "The Congress has failed to take a strong stand at the national level. There is no leadership worth the name even to intervene in major issues.

On Sabarimala, the chief minister said it was his government's constitutional responsibility to implement the Supreme Court verdict.

The chief minister said the strong stand taken on Palarivattom flyover issue indicated the government's zero tolerance towards corruption. On NH development, he said a high level meeting with the Centre will be held later this month to take the work forward.
