ACB summons BS Yeddyurappa, Basavarajendra
Mr Yeddyurappa, who was earlier summoned to appear on Saturday, had not turned up seeking 10 days.
Bengaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has issued a notice to BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa and Deputy Secretary of Mines (Investigation Cell) Basavarajendra H., to appear before the investigation officer on Thursday, in connection with a denotification case related to B. Shivarama Karanth Layout.
Mr Yeddyurappa, who was earlier summoned to appear on Saturday, had not turned up seeking 10 days.
However, the ACB has issued the notice to him again, asking him to appear before the IO as there is a need to question him and record his statement.
Similarly, Mr Basavarajendra, who had allegedly issued illegal endorsements of denotification when he was the Special Land Acquisition Officer in BDA when the alleged scam took place, has also been summoned by the ACB to appear before it.
HC notice to ACB on BSY plea
The High Court on Tuesday ordered a notice to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), following a petition filed by BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa challenging the FIRs registered against him in connection with a case related to denotification in B. Shivarama Karanth Layout.
The ACB had registered FIRs in the matter relating to alleged illegal denotification of land acquired for the layout.
