Hyderabad: The state government has decreased the facade development budget from Rs 30 crore to Rs 10 crore which is part of the CPP. The facade development involved replication of arches of the Charminar at the entrance of shops and signboards in the lanes.

It involves not only developing government properties but private properties within a two km radius of the Charminar to bring the heritage look to the project. However, officials claimed that they could not renovate 60 per cent of the properties with the current funds and private agencies would not come forward to fund the project under corporate social responsibility.

A senior GHMC official said that the developmental activities include uniform display boards and the heritage facade would be part of the shops in Lad Bazaar in Phase I of the CPP.
