Install RWH in a month, S P Velumani tells panchyats
The minister noted that the 22,347 structures that were built in two years at a cost of Rs 485-crore have helped in saving rain water.
COIMBATORE: State minister for municipal administration, S. P. Velumani, has instructed panchayat offices and rural development offices to install rain water harvesting (RWH) system in their respective buildings within a month.
At the meeting the minister added that details of the installation of the RWH system must be submitted to the head office and he added that once the system is in place, he would personally inspect the buildings. Water logging can be avoided during the rainy season if RWH systems are in place, opinioned the minister. Taking the same into consideration, the minister noted that all commercial buildings, theaters, malls, marriage halls, bog and small eateries must necessarily ensure that RWH system is installed at the earliest.
